Destination Education is currently looking for an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a special school for students aged 5-19 located in the London Borough of Newham.  The position will be to start as soon as possible on a full time basis, supporting students with autism and complex needs.

The school offers specialist teaching and learning for children aged 5-19 years with ASC and communication needs. The students are supported to develop skills and independence by using a more subject-specific curriculum. The school has a fantastic outside space with a gym, sunken trampoline and planters to support students with their skills around horticulture. They are based in the heart of Newham with fantastic transport links.
 
The ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant:-

• You will be an experienced, confident, passionate and hardworking SEN teaching assistant
• Previous experience supporting children with autism/complex needs and/or communication needs is essential
• Have experience in a special needs school or establishment
• Ensure the well-being of the students and making sure they are healthy, happy and safe
• Able to build positive and supportive relationships with all students and staff
