Destination Education is currently looking for an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a special school for students aged 11-19 located in the London Borough of Newham.  The position will be to start as soon as possible on a full time basis, supporting students with autism and communication needs.

The school offers specialist teaching and learning for secondary and post 16 learners with ASC and communication needs. The students are supported to develop skills and independence by using a more subject-specific curriculum. The school has a fantastic outside space with a gym, sunken trampoline and planters to support students with their skills around horticulture. They are based in the heart of Newham with fantastic transport links.
 
The ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant:-

• You will be an experienced, confident, passionate and hardworking SEN teaching assistant
• Previous experience supporting children with autism/complex needs and/or communication needs is essential
• Have a friendly, personable attitude towards staff and students
• Have experience in a special needs school or establishment
• Ensure the well-being of the students and making sure they are healthy, happy and safe
• Able to build positive and supportive relationships with all students and staff
