Destination Education is looking for an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher for a specialist school in East London.  The role will be delivering a range of subjects to students with autism, complex and communication needs. The school offers specialist teaching and learning for students aged between 5-19 years. The students are supported to develop skills and independence by using a more subject-specific curriculum. This role will be teaching small classes to students with autism and they are looking for someone full time up until the end of the academic year. 
 
The school has a fantastic outside space with a gym, sunken trampoline and planters to support students with their skills around horticulture. They are based in the heart of Newham with fantastic transport links.
 
Requirements of a SEN Teacher:

• Passionate, resourceful, resilient and a committed classroom practitioner with the ability to work as a team
• Experience teaching students with autism and communication needs from ages 11-19
• UK Qualified Teacher Status or overseas equivalence and experience or qualifications in teaching pupils with special educational needs
• Share the schools vision for creating exceptional special needs provision and ensuring every student attending has access to the best possible education to meet their individual needs
• The school will consider an ECT with previous experience supporting students with special educational needs in an education setting.
